We know the feeling - Your partner in formulation and characterisation

Our experts help you through the entire formulation process, from design and development to characterization and claim support.
Using our knowledge of tactile perception
we can make your product feel right.
Measuring finger friction is a way to get
an idea of the perceived feeling of your
formulated cream or gel.

Formulation Expertise

Gels and creams

With our knowledge we can design and develop topical formulations with the desired rheological properties and performance for cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications. Our key expertise is within gel formulations, including in-situ gelling systems, and creams, but we also work with ointments, lotions, foams and patches.

Characterisation Expertise

Stability – Look into the future!

How long does your product retain its stability? With our automated Turbiscan instrument we can detect minute changes in stability, long before it is visible by the naked eye. This without having to add any unrealistic conditions for accelerated ageing.

Physico-chemical characterization –  Claim support for your formulated products.

Our advanced instrument park allows you to take an in-depth look into your product and its functions  -  and show it to your customers! Document how your skin-care products interacts with skin, using our confocal raman microscope. Our electron microscope can show and document your product's function down to the sub micrometer scale.

Tactile perception

We have a well-established knowledge on the relation between tactile perception determined from panel-studies and measured surface properties of different materials. We now extend this knowledge to new applications, for example design of topical formulations. This enables coupling of friction and adhesion between the finger and a model skin substrate to perceived properties of the formulation as well as skin hydration as a result of formulation application.
